He began his career shortly after earning a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Rutgers University and has since specialized in comprehensive financial services, encompassing retirement income strategies, investment planning, and delivering exceptional day-to-day client service.
Alvin holds the SIE, Series 7, and Series 66 securities licenses, along with life and health insurance licenses, equipping him to deliver integrated solutions that address every stage of a client’s financial journey. Whether he’s designing retirement roadmaps or helping clients navigate complex market conditions, Alvin’s goal is always the same: to translate financial complexity into clear, confident action plans.
Away from the office, Alvin lives in Frederick with his family, where he can be found testing new recipes in the kitchen, squeezing in a hike or a weight-lifting session, racking up wins at the billiards table, or relaxing with a good book. With over 15 years of experience in financial services, retirement planning, and investment management, Augustus “Gus” Martz brings deep industry knowledge and a client-centered approach to every relationship. As Founder and Financial Advisor, Gus is committed to helping individuals and families navigate their financial lives with clarity and confidence.
Gus holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Virginia Tech and has completed additional education through the College for Financial Planning, earning the Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist® (CRPS®) designation. He is licensed with the Series 7, Series 66, and Life and Health insurance certifications, allowing him to offer comprehensive, personalized financial strategies that align with his clients’ goals and values. Gus lives in Myersville, Maryland, with his wife, Mackenzie, and their two children, Will and Caroline. Outside of work, he enjoys quality time with his family and can often be found golfing, hiking, fishing, or skiing—activities that reflect the balance and fulfillment he encourages in his clients’ lives.
